Our Retail Studio

Ormachea Jewelry Design is nestled in the El Jardin Courtyard in historic Downtown Ventura, next door to The Peruvian Bead Company where their work was shown for twelve years prior to the opening of their own store in March 2003.

Hugo's workshop is located in the back of the store and you can often see him working on his designs through the window display on the rear wall. His design ideas can come to him at any moment of the day or night, even while sleeping. He works on his projects using traditional hand-made tools to ensure an authentic finish. Hugo rejects too much reliance on machinery as being opposed to his creative philosophy. He feels that he cannot produce his best work without employing his own personal tools and the techniques of his forbears. Hugo is also happy to work on designs with his customers.
